I’ve watched my 5 year old not only learn the “required or expected” preschool curriculum, but she’s blooming with confidence and enthusiasm for learning, increasing in independence, and growing in her love for nature. She’s always coming home happy (and dirty - but we’re okay with that!).”

“Being in nature has a way of encouraging learning through a child’s own curiosity. It makes learning feel more “natural”. Both of my girls have gained problem solving skills I don’t believe could be achieved in a traditional class setting. Miss Lauren and crew have built a foundation for academic success. But (maybe more importantly) they have encouraged social and emotional skills that have helped my girls thrive in all settings.
There is no obstacle too big for a bright, determined, confident preschooler that is covered in mud!”
“Forest Friends is such an awesome, unique program that allows kids to be kids! They get to learn by exploring anything in nature (logs, streams, sticks, bugs, rocks, etc.) The kids learn life skills as to be self-aware for what is safe to do and what is risky/dangerous in terms of balancing (walking on logs or rocks), touching (bugs/plants that can cause rashes), or how to dress in different types of weather (insulation and how to stay dry), how to protect yourself(sunscreen or bug spray), or anything really. These skills are not taught as in depth or practiced in a typical indoor classroom environment. Lots of academic skills are incorporated all through the play and exploration too! My children have loved attending this program and have learned so many cool things! Plus, Miss Lauren and her staff are the absolute best! ”

Her independence and decision making skills have grown exponentially, and her creativity shines in all of the mud mixing, stream digging and STEAM activities Miss Lauren and her team create.
